What Parents Say:

I am very pleased with the English classes for my daughter. Paul has been really helpful in explaining what the examiners want to see and in developing ways to demonstrate these techniques and skills. Thanks to his expert guidance and encouragement.

Sowmya, Parent

Paul provided support to my daughter for her English Language GCSE. His subject knowledge, combined with his ability to explain and break down tasks, made all the difference to her understanding and confidence. What stood out to us was his patient, encouraging approach and his ability to recognise my daughter’s learning style. He was approachable and celebrated her progress and successes along the journey.

Jane, Parent

After attending Paul’s sessions, my son is feeling more confident and is getting a good grasp of the areas where he was previously struggling. This has motivated him to produce good quality work, which will hopefully help him improve his grades in the actual GCSE exam. Thanks, Paul.

Parent of Year 11 student

Hi, I’m Paul Dutton

I’m an online GCSE English tutor, qualified teacher, and former GCSE examiner.

I’ve spent over 21 years teaching English and have helped more than 1000 students prepare for their GCSEs. I began teaching online in 2014, so I know how to make lessons clear, focused, and encouraging, even through a screen.

As a former examiner of 10 years, I understand exactly what earns marks and what holds students back. I don’t just teach English content; I teach students how the exam works, so they can improve quickly and feel confident in the exam hall.

I also know how it feels to struggle with confidence at school. That’s why my approach is calm, supportive, and practical, helping students feel capable, not overwhelmed, and ready to show what they can really do.
